Gurkha Viper Churchill, Box Press Cigar
Size: 7.0" x 50
Humidor Condition: 68% at 72° F
Overview: This cigar comes in with a light brown, silky soft wrapper. No tooth at all. Tight invisible seams. A neat double cap. Has a Sweet, slightly musty morning dew/wet grass aroma.
Review:
Initial Light: Being a long, boxed press cigar, it had a perfect draw with just the right amount of tension. Also had a pretty good smoke output. Had a musty wet-tobacco taste with medium-long finish with a hint of pepper. Settling out at a medium body
First Third: Stayed medium body, smoke thickened up and taken on a thick salty caramel keeping the pepper on the end, turning into a long finish. Had an almost cannabis-like smell from the foot smoke. Cigar held an even burn line
Second Third: Sweet taste had gone away and taken on a VERY peppery taste. Almost had a cigarette aftertaste and gave way to a serious dry mouth.
End: Stayed very peppery with the cheap tobacco/cigarette aftertaste until the last bit at the band point that lasted well until the finish. Once at the band it kept a cheap, nearly flavorless $1 cigar taste until the finish.
Last Comments: Ash didn't hold on very well, but for a small ring gauge that is pretty typical. Started to get warm with about 2.5" still left, again typical of a small ring gauge. Overall body kept at about a medium throughout
Rating: 6/10
Recommend it?
I would try to say you've had it, but I wouldn't buy a box.
Smoke it again?
Probably if someone offered one to me, but I won't purchase another.
