Victor Sinclair Bohemian Corojo Churchill

Victor Sinclair Bohemian Corojo Churchill
Size: 7.0" x 50
Humidor Condition: 68% @ 71°

Overview: This Cigar has a medium brown pretty toothy, almost fine sandpaper textured wrapper, tight seams, quite a few veins but only a couple big ones, and a few imperfections including a small hole in the wrapper, but nothing affecting the binder. Nice firm even pack. Single cap, I really do not like single caps because the shoulder or second cap is what usually helps hold the wrapper together. Very faint hay aroma.

Review:
Initial Light: Sure enough even while being careful, as soon as I cut the single cap off, the wrapper came loose but the band will hold it until we get to that point.... anyway onto the review. Great draw, perfect resistance, not a lot of smoke but enough to know its there. A medium-full body smoke consisting of leather and a long peppery finish. Pretty good start so far.

First Third: Great start so far, the first half of this third.... yay math... stuck with the heavy leather taste, but now getting into the second third, it has transitioned into a heavy sweet cream taste, and a really long super peppery finish, but not too spicy. Still a great tight draw, perfect burn, and the ash is still holding on. but im going to tap it before getting into the next third to prevent it from going on my lap.

Second Third: Still a great smoke, great performance, still medium-full bodied with plenty of rich smoke. The smoke has thickened up so its nice and chewy. The leather flavor is back which is much welcomed, and still has a long finish but has dropped a bit of the pepper. excited to finish this off.

End: Again the leather has dropped off but it has transitioned to a really heavy and spicy black pepper taste. Wonderful thick chewy smoke coming out. It has been a wonderful smoke

Last Comments: This is the best Victor Sinclair I have had to date, I loved it. Tons of transitions, perfect burn. I can get past the single cap problem for this kind of performance.

Rating: 9/10

Victor Sinclair Triple Corojo Churchill

Victor Sinclair Triple Corojo Churchill
Size: 7.0" x 50
Humidor Condition: 70% @ 72°

Overview: This cigar has a medium brown, slightly toothy and bumpy wrapper, Slightly loose but holding seams and some pretty thick veins and a OK double cap with an even spongy give. The wrapper is probably the most loose I have ever seen on a cigar but it looks like it will hold, It almost looks like they used a slightly better looking filler or binder leaf as the wrapper. It has a fresh sweet tea leaf aroma.

Review:
Initial Light: Good draw, good smoke output. It has a super bitter medium-full bodied flavor with a little bit of pepper and tea leaf flavor.

First Third: No real change in flavor but the smoke has taken on a nice thick creaminess. Hopefully the flavors change up a bit. The body is still a medium-full.

Second Third: Still no change in flavor, still medium-full bodied. Its a good tasting cigar but I really wish there would be some kind of transitions. Its taken almost an hour to even get to the last third, so if you like a good long smoke, this is perfect for you. The burn line was really bad and I had to touch it up.

Last Comments: unfortunately I couldn't finish this cigar because it was such a long smoke and I had somewhere I needed to go, I will review it again in the future. I wont give my ratings and recommendations because I dont think that would be fair to the company.

Gurkha Status Torpedo

Gurkha Status Topedo
Size: 6.5" x 52
Humidor Condition: 68% @ 72°

Overview: This cigar has a spotted medium brown smooth wrapper, tight invisible seams, mild veins, a great triple cap, with a firm even pack. It has a nice tobacco and hay aroma with a little bit of the cedar humidor smell

Review:
Initial Light: Starts with a great draw and perfect smoke output. Flavor is a bitter cocoa with a very short finish and mild body. Great start.

First Third: No change in flavor but a has taken on a long peppery finish with tons of thick chewy smoke. The burn is a bit wobbly but did't require any touch ups.

Second Third: Body went up to a mild-medium. The cocoa flavor has transitioned into a woody taste with nice thick smoke. Enjoyable head rush kicking in.

End: Body has really kicked up a notch and the flavor has transitioned again to a bold coffee-like flavor. The wrapper cracked just above the main band but the binder held just find.

Last Comments: Nothing really special and the flavors weren't as strong as I would like until the end but still a pretty good smoke

Garo Double Habano

Garo Double Habano Torpedo
Size: 6.0" x 52
Humidor Condition: 69% @ 73°

Overview: This cigar has a dark spotted black and brown silky smooth wrapper with tight seams, medium veins and almost no tooth. Double cap, but the top most was a bit messed up, but probably just a shipping problem. Tight even pack with a slightly bitter and sweet barnyard-like aroma.

Review:
Initial Light: Solid medium bodied, perfect draw and smoke output on both ends. Taste is a bit woody and yeasty almost like fresh bread. Smoke is thick and chewy. Great start.

First Third: Body up to a medium-full. Flavor has changed to a super sweet, dark chocolate flavor with a medium long pepper finish. Ash held to about 1.5"

Second Third: Body and flavor haven't changed but the finish is a really strong pepper, and it has plumes of rich thick smoke.

End: Still medium-full bodied with a huge pepper finish. However the flavor has moved back to nice woody flavor and super thick and chewy smoke.

Last Comments: Very enjoyable smoke, loved it.

Obsidian Robusto

Obsidian Robusto
Size: 5.5" x 54
Humidor Condition: 68% @ 73°

Overview: This Cigar has a medium brown slightly rough and toothy wrapper with nice tight seams, and a medium thick veins. It has a firm and even pack with an even double cap. It has a woody almost minty and peppery aroma, a great humidor smell.

Review:
Initial Light: Great earthy tobacco taste with a perfect draw, pretty mild start and a short finish. Tons of smoke pouring off the foot.

First Third: As expected the body is up to a medium, with a good finish but not very much smoke output. However the smoke that is there is a perfectly thick, woody taste.

Second Third: Not much of a flavor change, but the smoke has greatly increased and super thick and chewy.

End: Still the same flavor as the first third but almost a full-body thickness, but with TONS of great thick smoke.

Last Comments: I like a bit more flavor transition when smoking, but that aside it was a pretty good smoke. Unfortunately I had to touch it up twice while smoking it which can be a number of factors. The best part is I was able to smoke it to the last inch without it getting too hot.

Rating: 6/10

La Gloria Cubana Wavell

La Gloria Cubana Wavell Maduro
Size: 5.0" x 50
Humidor Condition: 67% @ 71°

Overview: This Cigar has a medium brown, silky, and slightly toothy wrapper. Tight invisible seams and almost invisible veins with a nice double cap. It has a faint chocolaty aroma.

Review:
Initial Light: This had a nice taste that slightly resembled the smell of freshly cut cedar. At most a mild cigar with a slightly snug draw and minimal smoke output with a short finish.

First Third: Kept the great woody flavor but moved up to a mild-medium smoke with a pretty good finish. The draw opened up significantly and worked into a wonderful smoke and the burn line was almost razor sharp.

Second Third: Body remained the same but had taken on a sweet taste on top of the wood. Gladly it picked up a bit of pepper on the finish, which was nice to have a little bit of different flavor on the finish.

End: No changes in the actual flavor but the smoke has turned very thick and almost chewy.

Last Comments: Very enjoyable, comfortable smoke that gave me just a hint of a tobacco rush.

Gurkha Viper Churchill

Gurkha Viper Churchill, Box Press Cigar
Size: 7.0" x 50
Humidor Condition: 68% at 72° F

Overview: This cigar comes in with a light brown, silky soft wrapper. No tooth at all. Tight invisible seams. A neat double cap. Has a Sweet, slightly musty morning dew/wet grass aroma.

Review:
Initial Light: Being a long, boxed press cigar, it had a perfect draw with just the right amount of tension. Also had a pretty good smoke output. Had a musty wet-tobacco taste with medium-long finish with a hint of pepper. Settling out at a medium body

First Third: Stayed medium body, smoke thickened up and taken on a thick salty caramel keeping the pepper on the end, turning into a long finish. Had an almost cannabis-like smell from the foot smoke. Cigar held an even burn line

Second Third: Sweet taste had gone away and taken on a VERY peppery taste. Almost had a cigarette aftertaste and gave way to a serious dry mouth.

End: Stayed very peppery with the cheap tobacco/cigarette aftertaste until the last bit at the band point that lasted well until the finish. Once at the band it kept a cheap, nearly flavorless $1 cigar taste until the finish.

Last Comments: Ash didn't hold on very well, but for a small ring gauge that is pretty typical. Started to get warm with about 2.5" still left, again typical of a small ring gauge. Overall body kept at about a medium throughout

Rating: 6/10
